Danielle Vierling - Physical Education
What is your background?
B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Vermont Teaching Area of focus? Physical Education, Health, Wellness Where are you from? I grew up in Vermont and lived in Colorado after I graduated from college. I moved to New Mexico and then back to Vermont for a few years. Returned to Colorado last year because I love the weather here! Tell us about your family? I have been married for 13 years and we have one daughter and a puppy! What do you like to do in your free time? I like to hike, walk, run, bike, ski, camp, be outdoors. I also love to listen to music and pretend to sing:) What is your favorite part of your school day? I love when we play games together in PE and the moment a student figures out how to do something after practicing. They say “Mrs. Vierling, look!” Why do you choose to teach at Ave Maria? Ave Maria is an awesome and supportive community with a beautiful campus. The kids and families are awesome but most importantly the education of our students is based on the Catholic faith. What do you love about teaching? I am passionate about wellness and feel so much of our happiness and wellbeing can be found when someone is knowledgeable about their body and how it works. What are you passionate about? Getting kids to move and learn different skills with the hope that down the road when they are older they will be physically literate and be able to care for God’s amazing gift, their body! What has been your most memorable moment at Ave Maria so far? Getting fifth graders to square dance is always memorable! |
