I am entering into my fourth and final year at the Denver Catholic Biblical School through St. John Vianney lay division.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in Denver, CO
Tell us about your family?
I’ve been married for 28 years to my beloved husband Scott. We have four amazing, unique and unrepeatable children–Walter (25), Jennifer (23), Christopher (21) and Peter (18) three of the four are graduates of Ave Maria.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with my family-hiking, playing games, and watching movies.
What is something people may not know about you?
I took a gap year between high school and college and lived in Hawaii for part of the year.
What is your favorite part of your school day?
I don’t think I can name just one particular part of the day as my favorite, but there are so many times in my job that I think to myself “I can’t believe I get paid to do this!”
What do you love about teaching?
Accompanying middle school students on their faith journey is an incredible blessing! The students inspire me time and time again, and I strive to do the same for them. My prayer is to meet students where they are and to help them go deeper in their knowledge of the faith, in their relationship with the Lord, and in how to live in a way of holiness that one day, together, we will be saints!
What are you passionate about?
Living and learning in a way of faith.
Why do you choose to teach at Ave Maria?
At Ave Maria, we strive to put Christ at the heart of all we do! We have an opportunity to pray and worship together, read Scripture, build virtue, and serve others. Being a part of Ave Maria is truly being a part of a family that takes care of one another in a way of love and faith!
What do you love most about Ave Maria?
Coming together with students, families, and the staff of Ave Maria to participate in the sacrifice of the Mass.
What has been your most memorable moment at Ave Maria so far?
Traveling to the Holy Land with Fr. Gus. This trip was a dream come true and it helped me to go deeper in my faith and love of Scripture. I try to weave this experience into the classroom to help inspire students in their own reading and understanding of Scripture.
What do you love most about your job?
Working, laughing, and praying with incredible students, families, and coworkers. Every day is different and there is never a dull moment.
