What is your favorite part of your school day?
My favorite part of the day is the morning. The students here at Ave Maria are truly excited to enter the school building to see their classmates, teachers, and staff. They are excited and motivated to learn.
What do you love most about Ave Maria?
Ave Maria is an amazing place to work. The administrators, staff, teachers, and students are Christ-centered. The students’ well-being, education, and growth in their faith are a priority at Ave Maria Catholic School. The teachers are highly qualified, educated, and respected. They are trained in differentiated instruction to meet the needs of different learning styles.
What do you love most about teaching your students?
I love teaching middle-school and intermediate levels. The students are transitioning to higher levels in their education and I love seeing the growth that occurs as they learn to challenge themselves.
I love incorporating humor in my lessons and helping students feel at ease with advocating for themselves. I am passionate about teaching reading and writing in all subjects. The interdisciplinary skill of connecting reading with math, science, and social studies is important. I believe students should learn how to read and engage with textbooks; navigate and decipher the structures of nonfiction text.
